Additional information to be added.

The Lookout Artillery was actively engaged in nearly all of the battles of the Atlanta Campaign, including Resaca, Lost Mountain, Kennesaw Mountain, Chattahoochee River Line, New Hope Church (where they slept on the battlefield), Peachtree Creek (on the front line), and Atlanta (their position was in front of the Ponder/Potter/Powder House). The Atlanta Campaign is lengthy and intimidating to try to describe. Many of Barry’s Battery were captured or killed during this Campaign.

In November, many of the men voluntarily participated in the battle of Griswoldville, although the Battery was not officially engaged. In the days following Griswoldville, many of the men also engaged in skirmishes in the area.

Please check back for future pages detailing the Battery’s activities in 1864. Also, please sign the guest book, especially if you are a descendant of the artillerymen.
