Sgt. William Walker Anderson, Jr., was born July 1, 1835/1836/1837 (different dates documented), in Athens, Tennessee to W. W. Anderson and Elizabeth McChesney.  The family moved to Chattanooga in 1840.  He enlisted in the battery on September 2, 1862 with the rank of 2nd Sgt., although he is marked as “absent” on the roll dated Sept-Oct 1862.  He furnished a substitute and was discharged on April 3, 1863. He died April 5, 1926, in Monroe, GA.
